Most of the time, I handle the recipe development for this site. I daydream at work, often with my hands in the dirt, about the sweet treats I’d like to scale down for you. But, sometimes, Mr. Dessert For Two has some pretty great ideas on his own. He spouted off his idea for oatmeal [Click to Continue Reading...]

The minute I scaled down cheesecake to serve two people and made those mini New York cheesecakes, my mind started spinning with ideas for variations. Since it’s Pumpkin month (I guess some people call it October, to each his own), pumpkin cheesecake with maple whipped cream had to be made. Ooey, gooey and exactly what I wanted in my belly with a cup of coffee. The hardest part of this recipe was remembering to take the dough out [Click to Continue Reading...]

My friends would tell you that I have an annoying habit: anytime someone mentions a margarita, I will always chime in and say “the frozen margarita was invented in Dallas!” Every.single.time. I can’t resist informing anyone who’ll listen that the most delicious cocktail was created in my home town. I’m so proud. In fact, I’ve [Click to Continue Reading...]

I feel like I am the last person to offer a riff on s’mores. Are cupcakes even still trendy? No matter, I’m sharing s’mores cupcakes with y’all today because they are delicious—sticky, but very delicious. These soft chocolate cupcakes have chunks of graham crackers scattered throughout and brûléed marshmallow fluff that oozes down your fingers. [Click to Continue Reading...]

These pudding cakes are great with any type of citrus—lemon, lime, orange, anything really. Three distinct layers form in these cakes. Once they are inverted, a citrus curd layer is on the top, followed by a tender soft cake layer, then a more well-done cake with a sugary crisp crust on the bottom. These cakes [Click to Continue Reading...]
