My friends would tell you that I have an annoying habit: anytime someone mentions a margarita, I will always chime in and say “the frozen margarita was invented in Dallas!” Every.single.time. I can’t resist informing anyone who’ll listen that the most delicious cocktail was created in my home town. I’m so proud. In fact, I’ve even been known to bully people into ordering a frozen margarita when they clearly want it on the rocks. And if you’re not careful, I’ll secretly tell the bartender that you want it with salt on the rim, even if you don’t. Annoying yes, but I want everyone to experience the bliss that is a frozen margarita.
This pie captures the flavors of a margarita perfectly: a crushed pretzel crust represents the salty element and tequila is laced throughout the lime curd and the whipped cream. The alcohol in the whipped cream stabilizes it, so you can make this dessert a few hours a head of time and keep it in the fridge. Make this for your Cinco de Mayo party and don’t forget: the frozen margarita was invented in Dallas!
Sweet and salty, this margarita pie is all kinds of delicious!Margarita Pie

Margarita pie... oh my!!! Thanks for the history lesson on frozen Margaritas, too -- didn't know that!
P.S. I like your "Lovin' Lemon Lately" group of photos in the sidebar -- but this lime recipe has my immediate attention. :)

Haha I will have to remember all of this if we ever are ever out to dinner and I happen to order a margarita! Such an interesting tidbit, I never knew! I'm a huge fan of margaritas or anything with tequila for that matter. Have you heard of the whipped cream with alcohol already in it? I tried it and it is a little strong but may be a fun twist!

Simply genius, Christina. Did you know chili gravy was invented in San Antonio? True fact. Love that we each have some foodie brilliance to stake as our own native creation. :)
