I’m feeling generous today. I’d like to give you cookies and a good laugh at the same time. For those of you who asked in my last post, I posted some old 'emo' photos of myself on the Dessert For Two Facebook fan page. Laugh it up and enjoy while you can, because I will probably take them down in a week. Fortunately, that 20-year old girl who dyed her hair black and made some very questionable wardrobe choices is all grown up now and working hard in the research field. I can’t risk having someone from my profession seeing these photos, so I’m posting them now under the assumption that folks who work in agriculture don’t spend a lot of time on Facebook. But, the day that iPads are installed in tractor cabs probably isn’t too far away.
So, make some nostalgic peanut butter and jelly cookies and consider sharing with me your worst awkward phase photos. Please? If you do, I might share with you something even more hilarious: we found old video clips of me dancing to indie rock songs (hello, Goldfrapp and Metric. P.S. I still love you, Emily Haines). I used to send these video clips to my honey when he was in Iraq, and he absolutely loves them. His opinion is unbelievably biased because even a monkey would laugh at these clips: my skinny knees moving wildly in opposite directions thus defying the physiological limitations of such joints and some serious hip shaking that makes an onlooker cringe in fear that a muscle pull is imminent. The best part? These videos were filmed completely sober.

These sound perfect and they remind me of something my grandma used to make...so good!

Haha, what a great idea you started. We should all post old pics now and have everyone get a good chuckle. I love that when we were teens, we thought we were the coolest, ever. I'd like to beg to differ now. I was anything but that! Eek!

Hilarious! I don't think I have any funny videos of myself...I'm sure my parents have plenty. I do have some photos though. Yikes. What was I thinking!? These cookies look yummy!

I am totally not a fake OTT person but posts like this just make me need to exclaim
OMG I THINK I LOVE YOU!!!
So cute. And we have all been there. My husband had a FIELD day with my teen photos. One of me with jet black hair (because doesnt every naturally blonde girl think dyeing her hair black, to bring out her blue eyes, is a GREAT idea at some point time). Im pouting at the camera and I do look quite like Im about to host a freak show, and Louis thought it was fancy dress. When I informed him it was just before a night in the pub, he actually cried with laughter. CRIED.
BTW I LOVE anything PB&J! These look awesome. I made some bars, the recipe for which is on my blog, that you should try too. I need to make your champagne cupcakes first!! So many recipes, so little time.... Yummy!!!!

You make me feel so much better about dying my hair black and pouting at the camera! Why were we so against smiling? What were we so sad about? Listening to toonly much Bright Eyes & Elliot Smith, were we? Glad I'm not the only one! :)

Great recipe! One of my qualms about making any PB cookies is that it always calls for so much and PB is so expensive. Thanks to your recipe I can enjoy an old favorite again.

Haha I'm not sure I'm brave enough to post any old photos of me but loving the revival! And these cookies look gorgeous - so simple but totally delicious.

ohh, the memories of bad dying hair decisions. Been there, done that. I cried, now I laugh.
Loved seeing your photos and these cookies sound delicious!

All of my "friends" post old photos of me on Facebook... I don't mind the ones from senior year, that's when I became somewhat cute! But give me a break and leave out anything from freshman and sophmore year...
Now, I've never been a fan of PB & J... but my daughter has it every day for lunch. Every day of her life. So I will be making these cookies for her and will probably eat a few myself too! GREAT idea, these cookies. :)
