How’s your weekend shaping up? It’s Fall, so there should be tons of things to do! Octoberfest, raking leaves, food festivals, fall baking. Really, the weekend is your oyster. But you say your Friday nights aren’t looking too hot lately? I know that feeling. You need chocolate. There’s not many things that you can’t dip in chocolate to make you feel better. Plus, cheer up—it’s sweater weather! The dates will surely increase because we all need someone to keep us warm this winter. Until then, make single girl fondue. In the microwave! Along the same lines as my Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake to soothe your soul, this single serving batch of fondue will hug you in all the right places.
Dip fruit, if you’re feeling healthy, or cookies if you’re feeling crappy. It’s all good! My mother in law taught me to dip walnuts in honey as a snack. I feel like she would also approve of dipping them in warm melted chocolate. Who wouldn't?
If all this talk about dipping chocolate is making you thirsty, you're going to want to whip up my Single Girl Sangria to serve on the side. You make it right in the glass, and it's the perfect accompaniment to single girl fondue.
Customize your booze, customize your chocolate dippers. You are going to have a great Friday night!
So, the recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of heavy cream and 1 tablespoon of butter. In my experience, this makes the richest chocolate fondue, albeit a bit thicker than fondue you might get a certain chain fondue restaurant called Schmelting Pot (or something along those lines). But really, all you need is 3 tablespoons of fat, so mix and match as you like. Use your coffee creamer, whatever you have around. Also, please follow the directions exactly...like, seriously don't stir the chocolate for a full 2 minutes. Two.minutes. I know it's hard. Make another drink while you wait.

I LOVE that this creates a thicker version of chocolate dipping sauce! One of my biggest complaints with fondue is when the yummy dip just melts right off in a thin layer. Bravo!

Thicker chocolate = more likely to stick to fruit = very happy girl!

Had the most amazing time chatting and getting to know you! Can't wait until our next meet up. Thinking fondue should be involved!
