Don't these hot pink cookies look like the perfect thing to bring to potlucks and picnics all summer long?
These beauties are from my sweet friend Heather Christo's new cookbook. Her book Generous Table is just as gorgeous as she is. Heather makes me feel like I can entertain any night of the week.
Heather has recipes for any type of entertaining festivity. From Ladies' Luncheon, Southern Housewarming, Backyard BBQ, Game Night, and Holiday Dinner Parties, Heather has you covered. She even shares decoration tips!
I was so happy to see a few traditional Greek recipes in the book. She has a recipe for Bougatsa that she describes as a cross between baklava and creme brulee. You can be sure that's what I'm making next!
I will be cooking from this book for all of my summer entertaining.
Her recipes are delicious with a twist. The beet pesto pasta called to me. The macaroni and cheese with pumpkin and bacon stared me down. But ultimately, I decided to make these pretty little pink cookies. You know the first recipe I make from any cookbook has to be a dessert!
The sugar cookie dough couldn't be easier. The berry frosting is what makes these cookies sing---fresh berries crushed and mixed with butter and powdered sugar. So pretty, so good! I used raspberries, but I've got my eye on some strawberries for the next batch, too.
Would you like to win a signed copy of Heather's new book before it is released? Of course you do!
Here's what you need to do:
1. Leave me a comment telling me your go-to recipe for entertaining. Do you use your Mom's lasagna recipe to wow your guests? What's your stand-by recipe?
2. For extra entries, follow the lovely Heather on twitter and give her a 'like' on Facebook. Heather's twitter page is here. Her Facebook page can be found here.
3. Tweet about this giveaway, then leave me a comment telling me you did so.
That's it! Good luck! I will choose a winner on Friday, April 26th at noon.

Heather's book looks really nice, best of luck to her. My current go to menu is Ina's Herb pork tenderloin, garlic roasted fingerling potatoes, roasted asparagus and honey glazed carrots. Everything can be made ahead and reheated or thrown in the oven and roasted right before serving. Oh and dessert....Chocolate Ganache Cake and Lemon Merengue Tart or a lovely fruit Trifle.
I liked heather on Facebook.

Such cute cookies! And I haven't even commented on the great new look on your site! Beautiful and so fresh.
Okay, so entertaining. For brunch, I rely heavily on Heidi Swanson's Baked Oatmeal recipe since it's so darn easy for morning and isn't super heavy. And for dessert, you've heard me rave about Sprouted Kitchen's Blueberry Oat Biscuit Cobbler. The best!

I don't really have a go-to entree for entertaining - whatever sounds interesting at the time, but dessert is probably the Baked Brownie - it is perfect as is, but it also makes a great base for all kinds of "dressing up."

It depends on the company, but chicken shnitzel is always a favorite.

Yum. These look great.
My go-to recipe? Depends on who is coming over, but I prefer things that can be made ahead for large groups - so white chicken chili or pork bbq are always staples around here. I have several go-tos when it comes to dessert though!

my go to recipe is pizza with a garlic basil crust
