CINNAMON CARAMEL AMISH DONUTS
The best donuts you'll ever have!
In a medium bowl, whisk together the 1 c. flour, 3/4 t. baking powder, 1/4 t. baking soda, 1/2 t. salt, 1/2 t. nutmeg, & 1/3 c. sugar.
In a small dish, stir together 1 egg, 1/2 c. buttermilk, 1 t. vanilla, & 2 T. of the browned butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry, & stir until blended.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 8-10 minutes in a greased donut pan. Donuts will feel springy.
Melt the 1/2 c. caramel bits with 1 T. of water in the microwave 25 seconds. Stir in the 2 T. cream. Whisk together cinnamon & powdered sugar in a shallow bowl.
Dunk each doughnut in the caramel glaze, followed by the cinnamon-powdered sugar.
