Red Velvet  Sheet Cake

Topped with the best  cream cheese frosting ever!

Whisk together 1 c flour,  1 c sugar, 2 TB cocoa powder,  and 1/8 t salt. Melt 8 TB butter. Stir in 3/4 c buttermilk, 1  egg, 1/2 t baking soda, 1/2 t vanilla, and 1/2 t red food dye.

Pour batter into a sheet pan, and smooth it to the edges.  Bake at 350F on the middle rack  of the oven for 15-18 minutes. Allow to cool.

TO MAKE FROSTING:  Beat together 3 TBSP butter and  3 oz of cream cheese until fluffy. Add 1/4 cup buttermilk, 2 cups powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla, and beat until creamy. 

Frost the cake when cool, and slice into 12 small squares. ENJOY!
