A beautiful bright green matcha cake recipe made in a 8 inch square pan to make a loaf layer cake.

Beat together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, matcha powder, and vanilla, then beat.

Whisk together the flour and baking powder separately. Add half of the mixture to the bowl and stir.

Add the buttermilk and stir. Add the remaining half of the flour mixture and stir. Bake and let cool.

Make the vanilla buttercream frosting and assemble the cake.
