Small Bakeware Giveaway!

Giveawayfinalforsite Small Bakeware Giveaway!

Well, hello there.  Aren’t you looking nice today?  Oh, stop, no need to flatter me back.  I’m just doing a little giveaway for y’all because the love in my heart is overflowing.  I never knew this website would bring such happiness into my life.  The process of creating recipes and photos each week is challenging but rewarding, and the people I have met along the way have enriched my life in ways I can not express with words.  I’m speechless and my joy bucket is full.

I put together a giveaway basket to help you bake desserts for two.  Too often I get emails about pan substitutions because you don’t have a 6″ pan or a small pie pan in your kitchen.  I wish I could reply to each email with a package of all the small pans you need.  Truth be told, if you put your address in an email to me, I would most likely send you whatever pan you were lacking.  It would make me so happy to do so.  But why not enter this here giveaway to win tiny pans and tiny tools perfect for dessert for two?!

The gift basket contains:  1 6″ cake pan (in the adorable shape of a heart), 1 6″ ceramic pie plate, one miniature loaf pan (perfect for my banana bread, cranberry bread, and gingerbread), 2 red ramekins, and a tiny microplane grater for grating small amounts of nutmeg or chocolate.

Also, I promise to have it delivered to you before Valentine’s Day so you can bake miniature desserts for your Valentine.

To enterLeave a comment with your favorite dessert that you would like me to scale down to serve two.  (psst! Check my recipe index, I might have already covered it.) You must include an email address in the field provided so I can contact you if you win.  Don’t worry, your email address will be kept private.

For additional entries to win, leave a separate comment for each of these actions:

1. Like my fan page on Facebook.  And thanks so much for doing so.

2. Follow me on Twitter @DessertForTwo and tweet about this giveaway.  Also, please leave me a comment with your twitter name so I can follow you back. I love new friends!

3. If you’re on StumbleUpon or Pinterest, go ahead and stumble or pin.

Good luck, y’all! The giveaway closes Tuesday, February 7th at noon.

I love mini desserts and mini bakeware. I’m new to your blog – so I’m not sure if you have done it yet – but mini pecan pies – not the tassies – but a mini pie for 2 or 4. I would love to see that.

  2. jenny says:

I followed you on twitter @icywit

  3. jenny says:

    I liked you on Facebook!

  4. You’ve already scaled down so many yummy things. I don’t know what else to tell you. Maybe you can just pick a few of your favorites and scale them down to a tiny tasting plate with a little taste of each thing. I tend to have trouble making up my mind when it comes to desserts. Sometimes I just want a bite of each one offered.

  5. Jackie T says:

My favorite dessert that I’d like to scaled down is cupcakes! I love them, but I don’t love making 1 or 2 dozen when I only want 1 or 2!!

  6. Aren’t you a sweetie?! As you could tell from my brownie-bakin’ exploits this weekend, I *love* your scaled-down desserts. I hate feeling like I waste an entire batch of something, so something that bakes up juuuust enough for me and the roomie or me and the boyfriend is perfecto. :)

I’d love to see a Dessert for Two style recipe for chocolate or oatmeal cookie pancakes–I always want to have ‘em for breakfast, but I don’t want to wind up with a billion cakes and one little me. Help!

  7. I’m not on Facebook, but I do follow you on Twitter. Will tweet about it now. I’m @Rawdorable :-)

  8. Just liked you on Facebook. :)

  9. Eeep, this giveaway is awesome! I love little miniature things :) a dessert I think you should try to acale down are ice cream cone cupcakes… Where you bake cupcakes in an ice cream cone, you know? A big batch is great for a party, but one or two would be perfect to surprise someone on their birthday!

Ok, it being Carnival season in New Orleans I have to go with a miniature King Cake!

  28. Mandy Kirk says:

Hmm. I love what we call “cherries in the snow” it is a light whipcream/cream cheese mix with marshmallows with cherry pie filling on top. I love it but when I make it, the recipe makes TWO pies! Way too many for me and too much temptation. So I only make it for get togethers

  29. Lauren says:

    Well you are just too sweet!! {And, I know what you mean about the blog bringing happiness. My husband thinks it’s weird, but blogging makes me so happy!}

Aw, you are so sweet (pun intended)! Since I have many of those items already, I’m going to stay out of the contest BUT I do have a hardware question for you: what are your size and (especially) sourcing suggestions for a small-scale spring form and tart pan? I’m just getting into wee desserts (I don’t really bake) and am at a bit of a loss….
    Love the blog!

  46. Phyllis says:

  140. Su Murillo says:

I liked your FB page :)

  141. Lauren says:

Since it’s just my husband and me at home, he always complains when I bake that it’s way too much food. This site has totally changed that!! I would love to see a smaller version of angel food cake!

  142. LMF says:

Ooooh, maybe something with Kahula in it. Or breakfast for 2 is always great!

  143. Alexis Tannin says:

I am new here but your vanilla cherry baked oatmeal looks amazing!!! I also believe a kitchen torch makes everything better. Sadly as soon as my hubby sees me take it out he comes running to do it because he wants to do the fun part. Maybe with these I will finally get to because he will be asleep!!

  144. a apple cheesecake pie is in my future! love making dessert on a smaller scale, when I have to make larger ones I end up eating it all the small size helps control my sweet tooth :)

  145. Sarah L says:

This is a great giveaway and it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day! I see that a commenter before me just suggested this, too, but the first dessert that popped into my head was angel food cake.

  146. Jean says:

My favorite so far is the Texas sheet cake. Would love to see scaled down buttermilk pie. Speaking of Southern….

  147. aaaah – so wanna win this!!!

i’d love to see you downsize muffins and cupcakes – i always see recipes for a dozen, and i want to make just six!

  148. nicole says:

I’d love a recipe for angel food cake for two! I think this may be merely impossible! It’s a light dessert and goes great with fresh fruit!! mmm mmm mm!! And I jsut “liked” you on facebook :)

  149. Laurie says:

Can you tell us where we can purchase those items? I don’t have a recipe I’d like you to scale, because you have covered most of my favorites, but links to purchase some of those scaled down items would be great.

  150. stephanie says:

hmmm…you’ve covered most of them!!! how about some (chocolate filled) croissants? mmmmmm, drooling just thinking about that

  151. Larie says:

Oooh, maybe a rich chocolate pudding? I hate chocolate, but the boy loves it, so I’d love to be able to make some just for him ;)

  152. Rachel says:

  155. Melanie Corral says:

I would love to see a turtle cheesecake scaled down… YUM!
I am following you on FB, but I couldn’t find you on Pinterest. :(

These are adorable lil treats. My kids are almost out of the house… soon, the deserts that I make will be too much for my husband and I! I am happy that I found your blog! :)

  156. Connie Bolick Lee says:

    I liked your facebook page

  157. Isabel says:

You’ve already done such a wonderful job downsizing so many recipes, it seems greedy to ask for more! I suppose if there had to be one thing more to add, though, I confess a certain interest in a scaled-down angel food cake. I’m trying to adapt the (ginormous) normal ones down to a mini loaf pan, but it always seems to vary between flat with no rise and overflowing-going-to-take-over-your-oven-ginormous-inflatable-doom.

(And I see I’m not the only one with a vested interest in angel food cake, huzzah! I am not so strange!)

  158. Connie Bolick Lee says:

    I followed you on twitter

  159. Shane R. says:

I’d love to see some kind of chocolate cheese cake made for two. Thanks!

  161. renae says:

Mini cheesecakes and scones! Love your site!!

  162. Hi! I think something uber romantic could be homemade truffles for two — most recipes I’ve used make at least 20 or 30 each and that is just too much candy for one couple!

I read your blog consistently and love your responsible [and honest] way of maintaining healthy eating habits while still getting your little bite of deliciousness too. Our usual method is to just put half of whatever we’ve made directly into the freezer, which is not quite as effective since you can always defrost. :)

  163. sharon says:

You already so many of my favorites, I think I will just keep on trying whatever you post next

  164. Laura says:

I absolutely adore flourless chocolate cake! I have a recipe for one called La Bete Noir, and it is so rich and decadent (the main ingredients are chocolate, butter, eggs, and not much else!)…but it makes a 10″ cake! Because it is so rich and decadent, it really is the perfect thing to downscale to serving just two people. Thanks for all the great ideas!

  165. Brandy says:

I don’t think any dessert should ever be scaled down!!!!

  166. Brandy says:

    I follow you on Facebook.

  167. PhaedraH says:

I like the breakfast idea – pancakes (chocolate chip) or how about a white lava cake – vanilla or chocolate chip cake with white chocolate-ish sauce.

  168. Andrea says:

Goodness GRACIOUS how exciting! I have been looking for a 6″ pie pan in every kitchen aisle I’ve walked down in the last 6 months, and haven’t found one. Would SO love to own all of those wonderful accessories to bake less intimidating-size desserts for my sweetie and I! I would love to see some sort of mud pie (you know, with chocolate… and ice creammmm).

  169. Andrea says:

Just liked you on facebook as well!

  170. Shane R. says:

    I follow on twitter @shanerus

You should make mini ice cream bombes! Oooh, with a brownie bottom and a melted chocolate ganache!!! Make them with strawberry or cherry ice cream for Valentines Day =)

  173. You are awesome! I really should scale down everything… portion control is not my best skill.

  174. Kate says:

I pinned this on pinterest. Buuuuut I really didn’t want to on account of I don’t want anyone else seeing this giveaway LOL!

  185. Angela says:

Ice cream cake with a fudge and cookie layer!

  186. Birgit says:

I love your desserts for two.

I would love a small brownie recipe or one for just 2, 4 or 5 muffins – my husband doesn’t really have a sweet tooth and I try to limit sweets for my children (they get a piece of cake whenever I bake, but not a whole meal-worth of sweets).
Or maybe a classic cheesecake? That would be wonderful!

But I don’t know if I even qualify for this giveaway as I live outside the US.

  187. Renee V. says:

I would love to see a small version of an almond raspberry cake… I had that as my wedding cake a few years ago…. almond pound cake with raspberry jam filling in between the layers, and it was spectacular! I have always wanted to re-create it, but I would most definitely eat the entire cake. I would make it in a second if I had a small version of it! Thanks for all the work you do :-)

I’ve been checking this site out and following you on Facebook for a while now, and I love it all!! This is a purely ingenious idea, and I’m glad someone finally came forth with it. I’m working through the list of Desserts for Two in my own house, and every dish has been great!

One dessert I think would be fun and great would be a holiday dish that we hate to love: fruit cake. It seems as if fruit cake has a really bad wrap, and it may be difficult to reproduce in small form, but who wouldn’t love receiving, or tasting, a smaller version of holiday gluttony?!

Thanks again for everything you’ve shown us, it’s fantastic!
